New Website Owner Check-list


The following is a growing list of 'must do' activities & 'nice to have' resources for small business start-ups building a new website. This list is by no means complete and it's not limited to just the website.

Many items on the list are to do with small business office productivity tools and other tips.

Attempts have been made to add some sort of order to the list however your ordering preferences may work better. Your comments are welcome and will help steer the direction of the list.

New Website To-Do List:

  • Add analytical tracking software to your website
  • Finalize website content based on marketing message
  • Complete website meta data content, including article metadata
  • Make urls SEO friendly
  • Register with search engines, google, bing, etc
  • Register with relevant social media
  • Implement some form of ongoing Optimization (SEO/SEM)
  • If a local physical business, register with google maps, pinterest, and other geobased locators
  • Register with local business directories
  • Grade your website articles to see if you are reaching your target audience
